Summary: Distil is an edge-native public filing data refinery. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, do not sell user data, and operate in strict compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who We Are & Data Controller
Distil ("we", "us", or "our") operates the machine-native data refinery service located at https://distil-data.com. We are based in the United Kingdom (Scotland) and act as the Data Controller for information collected via our website and API services.

2. What Information We Collect
- Account & Billing Data: When you subscribe to Developer Pro or Enterprise tiers, your billing email, country, and payment details are collected and processed securely by our payment processor, Stripe Inc. (operating as Merchant of Record). We do not store raw credit card numbers.
- API Access Telemetry: For rate limiting and security, client IP addresses are temporarily recorded in Cloudflare Key-Value (KV) memory to enforce the 50-request daily anonymous quota. Daily faucet counters reset automatically at 00:00 UTC.
- Web3 Public Addresses: For autonomous agents settling micropayments via the x402 protocol, on-chain transaction hashes on the Base network are publicly verifiable by design on the blockchain.
3. Public Registry Data Processing
Distil aggregates, structures, and compresses public corporate filings, procurement notices, and beneficial ownership graphs from official government registers (including UK Companies House, US SEC EDGAR, Spanish PLACSP, French INPI/SIRENE, and EU TED) pursuant to open government licences (such as the UK Open Government Licence v3.0). This data is public record by statutory mandate.
4. Cookies and Edge Tracking
We do not use advertising cookies, analytics pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies. Our edge infrastructure runs serverlessly on Cloudflare Workers edge nodes without persistent browser tracking cookies.
5. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
Under UK data protection law, you have statutory rights including:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
- The right to rectify inaccurate personal information.
- The right to request erasure of your customer account and API key records.
- The right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
